Beyond the show of the UN climate talks in Bali in December 2007, a group of climate activists gathered in Freiburg to protests against their market oriented "solutions". 35 people blockaded a Shell petrol station for about an hour. The daily fossil fuel consumption routine was interrupted to the rhythms of resistance of an action samba band.
The Kyoto protocol with its carbon trade, its "clean development mechanisms" and seriously insufficient greenhouse gas reductions of 5,2% with regard to 1990, dangerously underestimates the consequences of global warming. It has become a distraction more than a solution to climate change.
