Unconditional basic income for everyone and the fight about precarious working conditions were the main concerns of the protesters on Euromayday 2008 in Vienna. Despite the serious claims, a wide range of different people joined for a wild demonstration. We have talked to activists of the cultural association KUKUMA as well as the followers of the Religion of the Flying Spaghetti Monsters. The protest march took a rather bad end at Pankahyttn. Although the police is certainly not
doing an easy job, the police incident there seemes inappropriate and planless and de-escalation seems not to have been part of the policemen's training...
