The industrial zone around Triesterstraße in Vienna's 10th district is certainly not the first thing that comes to the mind of someone who thinks about Vienna. But there are some sought-after places in that area as well. One of them is the Triesterstraße 114, which was occupied in the night of Ocotber 2 to 3 by the Gruppe Hausprojekt, fighting for a self-organised space for housing, initiatives and projects beyong capitalist principles since 2008.
The building, originally erected as a primary school in 1912/13 by architect Friedrich Jaeckel, was acant during the past two years. Whoever agrees to the principles of the project is warmly welcome.
