Early August, 1945: The allied forces have defeated nazi Germany, but Japan (a former ally of Germany and Italy), heavily tarnished, does not thing about capitulation. The US decide to drop the A-bomb on Hiroshima and implement their decision on August 6 at 8.15 am local tim. The weapon had just been developed, involving 100 000 collaboratos, and been given the cynical by-name "Little Boy". The majority of the victims-their exact number is disputed - were civilians, many others were Koreans brought to Japanfor forced labor. As every year, the Vienna Peace Initiative and the Hiroshima Group Vienna have organized a commemoration ceremony on the viennese Stephansplatz for the tragic 60 year jubilee.
