9 November 1938: Following a speach by Adolf Hitler, the persecution of jews in the Third Reich culminated in what history books sometimes euphemistically call the "Night of Broken Glass". Jews were hunted, tortured and killed, their shops and synagogues destroyed. Performance Artists Wolfram Kastner, Hanne Hiob and others call for remembrance of the Madness by depicting debased street-sweeping jews in Kärntnerstraße in the Viennese city centre.
