In 1958, Ulrichsberg mountain in Carinthia has become a yearly meeting point of veterans of the nazi wehrmacht and SS, their dependants and ideological descendants. Every autumn, they get together with VIPs from the political arena in a shoulder-to-shoulder stance at the so-called Europe Homecomer Memorial. Supported by the Austrian Federal Armed Forces, courted by (almost) all political parties in Carinthia and largely endorsed by the local population, delegations and veteran organizations arrive from all across Europe to attend (more info). Counter events and demonstrations take place on the same annual basis. In September 2005, one of them has lead to a arrest, summary proceedings against the accused German demonstrator and his expulsion from Austria under highly questionable circumstances. A group of people has protested against the arrest and the treatment of the young man in prison in front of the Ministry of Justice in Vienna...
